One stock is a "promising AI investment" and set to be a "serious player" in a corner of the space, according to Brian Stutland of Equity Armor Investments. They are really starting to become very creative in the AI world," Stutland, a portfolio manager at the firm, told CNBC's "Street Signs Asia " last week. Palantir has been scaling its Artificial Intelligence Platform, or AIP, and Karp said the company carried out nearly 600 pilots with the technology last year. Shares of Palantir jumped nearly 10% on March 6 after Palantir announced its Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node was selected by the U.S. Army . TITAN uses artificial intelligence to provide targeting information for missiles.

Dividend stocks came under the spotlight after Meta unexpectedly announced a dividend for the first time. BofA has also been bullish on dividend stocks lately, saying investors may flock back to such stocks for income if yields fall this year, in turn driving up this segment of stocks. Wall Street and other pros share their tips on how to pick good dividend stocks and what names will generate sustainable income. In fact, using that strategy mitigates the risk of relying only on dividend income if higher rates affect dividend distributions, according to Stutland. "This combination provides a buffer against future interest rate hikes and offers the possibility of capital appreciation alongside dividend income."

"A rise in 10-year rates, has historically been devastating for consumer and consumer discretionary stocks," he said. "With the 10-year breaking above 4.25%, we are seeing all those consumer discretionary stocks that have had big years pull back sharply." For Stutland, that consumer strength is keeping him bullish on the stock market and U.S. economy in general — but not consumer discretionary stocks. "I'm staying away from the lower market cap weighted stocks and consumer discretionary from those apparel type brands," he said. "As a whole, consumer discretionary stocks to invest in are narrowing.

The S & P 500 is going from strength to strength this year, closing at a one-year high last Friday and up over 10% year-to-date. While many analysts have cautioned that the rally could be a narrow-based one, with gains driven by just a few major tech stocks, some Wall Street pros are expecting the S & P 500 to rally further. Evercore ISI's Julian Emanuel told CNBC's "Squawk Box Asia" on Tuesday that he has raised his S & P 500 price target from 4,150 to 4,450 . Emanuel said that the AI buzz driving stocks has turned into a so-called "momentum market" like the Internet-related rally of the late 1990s to 2000. "The Momentum broadened last week into the larger S & P 500 and importantly the Small Cap Russell 2000; this broadening is very positive and looks set to continue," he wrote in notes sent to CNBC.
